To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/AP.25.11.35. Re. Pattinson, Check No.2335 Referring to the recent accident in France as a result of which the above man is unable to follow his employment. It will be sometime before this man is able to return to England, and even then he may not resume his duties immediately. During his absence from work we should like arrangements to be made for a nominal figure to be paid to him each week, equivalent to his average weekly earnings. Out of this sum of money we should also like the Cashier to forward weekly £2. 10. 0. to Pattinson's Wife whilst he is in France, this being an agreed arrangement when he is working over there. We should like your consent to the above suggestion on the understanding the total amount of money paid to Pattinson during his absence, will be taken into account when the full amount of compensation is settled.
