Connecting Rod Rattle:

This was due to the failure of the lead bronze bearings on the last 15,000 miles car. It does not occur on the existing 15,000 miles car.

2 Carburetter Scheme.

Previously dealt with.

Stellited Valves.

Running on B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} in France. Have also been run on 21-G-IV. We have now had sufficient experience on experimental cars to say that these stellited valves are really necessary if our engines are to maintain satisfactory tune when running on lead XXXXXX. fuel.

Textolite Gears.

Production to report progress.

Big Bore Engine.

B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} has now completed 7,000 miles in France with a preliminary big bore engine.

Vanvooren Body.

Tests are being conducted with this body on the frame vibrating rig with stabilising bumper bar, etc. This body certainly has desirable characteristics and it may be worth while sending it for a 15,000 miles test.

BENTLEY.

(1) Future progress and policy in connection with the Bentley. This is being discussed.

(2) We think we ought to go forward with experimental supercharger work since it would appear that we have got to carry on with the 6-cylinder engine in the Bentley for at least another 2 years. We recommend that the designs which are being completed for the supercharger on the Bentley should be issued forthwith so that we can get along with development work. We have proceeded as far as we can on our experimental mock-ups.
