Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Major Searight.

We find that the speed at which the piston descends in the hand air pump units for the K-S gauges varies on different pumps.

This appears to be due to the variation in the size of the hole through which the air is released under the tank unit. If the air is released too rapidly, it appears that more than one stroke of the hand pump has to be made before the gauge shews its correct reading.

We should therefore like to have your observations on the subject.
