1305? COPY Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/A.F.M. This has been acknowledged but is held over until Mr Leslie returns next week. Les/B WILMOT-BREEDEN LTD., Eastern Works, Camden Street, BIRMINGHAM,1. HCR/BJ/DMK. Ext.33. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. 2nd August, 1939. For the attention of I.A.Leslie,Esq. Dear Sirs, OSCILLITH BUSHES Further to your letter of the 22nd June last, we are wondering whether an opportunity has occurred for you to test the sample bushes, No. 3088D, which were moulded specially to fulfil your requirements on the independent front wheel suspension member, and sent to you on the 10th May. We feel sure that better results would be obtained with these, because we have supplied a substantial quantity of the same bush to Messrs. Aveling-Barford, Ltd., of Grantham, for use as bearings in the radius arms of Concrete road-making machines. This entailed an angular movement of 30° with a super-imposed vibration of 5° total at a speed of 3,000 vibrations per minute. The bushes are working very satisfactorily on these machines and it has done a lot to restore our confidence in this particular bush. If we can be of any further assistance in any shape or form, we shall be very happy to oblige. Assuring you of our keen interest and best attention at all times, We remain Yours faithfully, For WILMOT-BREEDEN LTD. (Sgd) B.Jackman, Sales Dept.- Oscillith Division. | ||
