Dear Sirs, Re: ZERO-LASH HYDRAULIC TAPPETS Thank you for your letter of the 2nd inst. and are very pleased and interested to note that you have a set of ZERO-LASH Hydraulic Tappets prepared for test purposes and that when you are in the position to do this, you will communicate with us further. With regard to the question of the manufacture, as previously advised, the necessary machinery is now being assembled at our Leamington Works, so that we can commence production as soon as possible. There are several special applications now going through to which ZERO-LASH Hydraulic Tappets will be fitted as original standard equipment. We are naturally anxious from all points of view to arrive at the most economical production figure for these units. Consequently, it is difficult at this time to give you a firm quotation based on post-war production. As an approximate indication, however, the hydraulic tappet as illustrated on your Blue Print PD.252, ie: chilled iron barrel type with 7/16" suspended hydraulic unit complete would be around 3/0d.each. However, this figure is subject of course to variation either way, but we feel that there would be no difficulty in our respective Companies reaching agreement on the question of production quantities when you are in a position to discuss this.
