Referring to recent oil cooler failures on Ph.III. cars, we understand that two cars 3.AZ.104 and 3.AX.81 have each had two oil cooler failures. We are alarmed at this repetition on the same car and suspect that some defect may have occurred in the oil feed system which has resulted in the burst coolers - such as a sticking main relief valve. If this had occurred it is probable that the oil pressure gauge would be damaged i.e. would no longer return to zero or read accurately. Could you find out for us whether anything of this kind has occurred on either of these two cars and give us any information which you may have or be able to obtain relative to the failures.

We should like to receive this at the earliest possible moment.
