Therefore in general we can say that high oil con- sumption on the Phantom is no mystery or peculiar to the design but depends upon the fit of the bearings and the piston rings. Attached is a curve shewing the oil flow at different speeds for 12-EX which has carefully fitted hand scraped bearings and is the car to be used for the next 10,000 miles test.
