X7510 X7100 The latest lubrication scheme LeC.2660 for the vacuum pump and dynamo pinion bush shews the oil supply taken from the intermediate pressure system of the relief valve. On test we have had trouble due to too much oil reaching the vacuum pump and being discharged through the vacuum pump exhaust pipe into the carburetter. During normal running the excess oil drips continuously from the carburetter drain pipe. We do not like correcting this by placing a restriction in the feed to the pump. The trouble is overcome by taking the oil supply from the low pressure system as was employed on the original scheme. We therefore recommend that the oil supply to the vacuum pump and dynamo bearing be taken from the low pressure supply. This has been carried out on both 21-EX and 22-EX which have gone to France.
