contd :- -6- Note :- With the standard system, readings marked + were the best that could be obtained by adjusting the throttle to correct distribution. The running below 1500 was very erratic with standard system. If a pipe giving these results could be employed it would seem that much less heat to the hot spot would be necessary and it would not have to rely so much on quick warming up of the hot spot in order to get a quick 'get away' when starting from cold. We are constructing another pipe on the lines of the above but having the same type of distributing pipe as the standard Phantom. It is hoped that this will be available for test in a day or two.
