TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to CD. C. to HOR. C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL RECEIVED DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M10.3.23. GOSHAWK 11. CUTOUT OPERATION. X4269 We send herewith N.scheme 1384. showing our suggestions for operating the cutout. We have no particulars of the latter, and though we assume that it follows closely N.scheme 1358. we do not know the exact dimensions, and accordingly we expect that you will make some slight modifications to N.scheme 1384. to suit what you have done. We have taken the position in the car of the pedal shewn on scheme 476. but as it opens the opposite way to the 40/50. we have thought it desirable to re-verse so as to follow our usual practice. It will be seen that the intention is for the lever on the counter-shaft to pass over the dead centre, as was originally intended on the Stork cutout. We believe that it can be got in on the gearbox as shewn, and that it is clear of the speedometer drive. With reference to using existing gearboxes, we suggest attaching a boss to the gearbox by bolts, which are subsequently riveted up permanently. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
