Attached herewith are sketches of failures of
spring leaves observed during 10,000 miles test on 9-G-111
in France.

It will be noted that the fractures always start
on the top side of the plate - fractures also start from
the outside edges.

Except for top leaves, the failures nearly always
occur close to the spring clips.
