I then pointed out that the lateral flexibility of the rear of the car, due to the split springs, might make the steering appear unstable. Now this has been concluded to be part of the reason for the steering being less satisfactory, but it is only to a small extent. There appear to be other reasons and I understand that the absence of shock dampers, and some recent designs of tyres (Goodyear make) are more responsible for the want of perfection than the split rear springs. | ||
