FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} to Mr. H.S. Evernden ORIGINAL WORKS For economy of production we are more and more dependent on tightly pressing on parts made with parallel fit. We think to do this the assembler should be provided with some 'nobby' and handy hydraulic presses of various sizes, according to the dept. and the demands of the work. I have imagined from 5 to 25 tons capacity. I do not at present know what you have, and I don't suppose you want me to go very deeply into it, but HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} will perhaps be able to give it time to see how the matter stands, and perhaps arrange for more or better apparatus.
