RE "GOSHAWK 11" WATER PUMP FITTINGS.
X.4231. AND WATER CONNECTIONS.

We send you herewith drawing LeC.1347 shewing the above. The delivery connection to the cylinders is an aluminium die-casting. It is formed in its upper portion with a flute for the purpose of completely draining the cylinder block when it is desired to empty the water cooling system in cold weather.

A certain amount of water will be left in the cylinder water jacket owing to the inclination of the engine in the chassis, but the freezing of this small quantity should not cause any trouble, as it should nowhere be more than .25" deep with the car standing level.

The suction water connection is also formed of an aluminium die casting. It is secured by a central bolt and has an inserted brass snout for making a rubber connection to the suction pipe from the radiator.

The main drain cock is on the suction bend and the pump itself is provided with a small pet cock for draining out the water from the volute.
