Dear Sirs,

Replying to your letter of the 26th of April, we make a standard 6-pen chronograph of similar design to the 3-pen chronograph you already have. This instrument, however, works on a paper twice the width. We suggest, therefore, that we exchange your present 3-pen instrument for one of our standard 6-pen instruments. We could give you nearly full credit for your old instrument. We should, of course, have to alter special fittings which were made for your chronograph in order to suit the wider paper. There is no doubt that this proposal would be considerably cheaper than endeavouring to make a special design to give 5 or 6 pens on your present paper strip. As far as we can judge without seeing your instrument the cost of the alteration would be about £25, but if you will send your present instrument to us we could let you have a quotation.

Yours faithfully,

For CAMBRIDGE INSTRUMENT Co. LTD.
