| -2- We have a large number of owners who have given it as their opinion that the general road holding qualities of the Bentley car, taking the combination of springing and steering as a whole, are the best they have experienced, and in more than one case the opinion has been expressed that it would be very dangerous to depart from our present lay-out. We should be glad if you would kindly let us know the names of any cars which you have had actual experience with fitted with independent suspension, which are competitors with the Bentley car for speed and acceleration and which, in your opinion, are as good as or better than the Bentley on the four points enumerated above. Further, we should be glad if you would also kindly let us know the names of any cars coming within the same definition, but without independent suspension, which are better than the Bentley, as mentioned in the last paragraph of your letter. The point we want to emphasise is that springing cannot be taken by itself. We are, dear Sir, Yours faithfully, For BENTLEY MOTORS (1931) LTD., (Signed) W. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Cowen.
