To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Graham Paige. Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}E. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E15.5.34 This is another example of a very excellent American car with an 8-cylinder engine. The springing seems to us to be very good, also the steering, brakes, clutch etc. The supercharger seems to work very satisfactorily and comes in automatically at a certain engine speed so that the owner cannot abuse its use. It does not seem to make any undue noise such as we were told was a sine qua non with a supercharger when we were trying to evolve one for the early Bentley, The speedometer is unduly optimistic. En. after taking the car to Brooklands gave me the correct readings as follows: Speed Indicated. Actual timed speed. 40 35.7 60 53.8 70 61.22 80 69.77 I should be glad if all concerned at Derby would try the car and report their views. I should then be glad to know what exactly is going to be done in regard to it. I believe the idea was to remove the supercharger unit complete and fit it to a Bentley. Sg.{Arthur F.
