I was asked to try the above car for damper knock. The owner has complained of a knock in the rear of the car. Cricklewood are of the opinion that the knock comes from the N.S.R. damper. By concentrating with the floorboards up, I could hear a very slight clatter at times from the N.S.R. damper, but I cannot conceive that this clatter could be the knock that the owner has complained of. (The car has been to the Coachbuilders). I have, therefore, told Cricklewood that in my opinion the light clatter does not warrant any work on the damper.
