BENSPORT GEARBOX SUSPENSION.
Herewith we send a sch. 3614. shewing the supports for the gearbox longitudinals on the 2 tubular cross members. The intention is that the gearbox shall be dismounted with the longitudinals in place, and we believe it will be found possible, on detaching the latter from these brackets, to slide the gearbox forward, and then dip it under the rear cross member to bring it back. It may be preferred however to detach the gearbox from the longitudinals.
It will be noted that we have shewn the brackets vertical on the tubes, but if preferred they can be set at right angles to the transmission.
It will also be noted that we have had to re-arrange the brackets carrying the front differential and the pedal assembly. The pull from the balancer to the front brake differential is not now quite in line.
