c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} r7080. BY.3./G.31.8.31. WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town CALL AUGUST 27TH. RE LeC. 2895 - INDUCTION PIPE FOR DOWN-DRAUGHT CARBURETTER. --------------------------------------------------------------- Just after this LeC. was handed to me by you at Derby, during one of your visits, we received instructions from R.{Sir Henry Royce} not to spend much money on down-draught at present (R.2/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 9.4.31.) We therefore discussed the matter with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lov.{Mr Lovesey} and were in agreement with this policy, and the matter was therefore allowed to stand. We do not propose to produce the pipe unless you start us on the matter again, as I understand from the Experimental Dept. that even now the down-draught carburetter does not offer hopeful prospects.
