X8782 To BY/NHW. from EFC. EFC5/T20.11.25. RE NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I INSTRUCTION BOOK. I think I have given you recommendations for alterations in the essentially electrical chapters to correct the impression about the ignitions. There is, as pointed out by Mr. Minchin, still a paragraph on p.12, Chapter 1, which requires modification, and in particular the sentence :- "To secure the best results both should always be used", ought to be deleted. It is rather unfortunate that this sentence found its way in in the first instance, and if you propose adding an Appendix, we should certainly make a point as early as possible of correcting the impression. There is also a paragraph with the side title "Ignition & Carburetter Controls" in which again it is said :- "Normally, both ignitions should always be used." You will agree this also requires modification. Taking everything into consideration, it scarcely now appears that an attempt to correct the impression by means of an Appendix will be sufficient, and I am not sure whether we ought not to get down to an improved version of the Instruction Book as soon as possible and to scrap all our present stock of books of the present | ||
