X336 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}9/T25.3.36 Phantom III Pistons. We have completed 2000 miles on the latest set of pistons we are running on the test bed. I heard them started up cold this morning and they are very good indeed - no sign of knocks, even when "listening in". We now have the engine dismantled and the pistons have been measured, and I should be glad if you will come and see them first thing tomorrow morning - we can then re-build the engine and decide on a policy for further running.
