speed of lift, which seems necessary owing to the induction pipe carrying less petrol.
You will remember that the carburettor seemed to run off extra ordinarily weak just when the throttle was open.
Mr. Thacker is sending a diagram of the wiring for this "Goshawk" switch, which is of the same pattern as that we all thought so good on the Marmon. The switch will follow in the course of a few days. This last has been adapted for our special requirements and includes the connection socket for the inspection lamp and the press button for the dashboard light.
The arrangement for the instruments on the instrument board will also be sent you by Mr. Evernden, we hope to-morrow.
Regarding the starting handle smaller cover, we propose removing the pin, but the cover should be made of tempered steel, not of soft steel as in the case of the Marmon. The ends of this cross tube have at present very puny bolts, but these are to be cancelled and more substantial ones fitted carrying at the same time the splasher iron to which the head lamps and side lamps are fixed. This design should be in the hands of Mr. Bailey.
Other fittings are carried by cross member and engine suspension bolts so as to economise material and the number of fixings.
Instructions for shortening the rear tank at least 1/2" so as to clear more securely the rear spring has been attended to by Mr. Evernden. The distributing board has already been sent. For the present we can use a Bleriot dynamo cutout fitted on the dashboard.
Regarding the Autovac, we do not seem to get much sense out of these people and I suggest we fit a Stewart which I understand is a better fitting and gives satisfaction on many
