- 4 - Oil pump. (continued) Up the pressure after braking, when the pressure always drops due,we presume to the oil being momentarily washed away from the pump. We shall refit the oil pump at first opportunity after making the release valve true in it's guide. Battery ignition. X5090 X2894 X5060 Improved ventilation to distributor, window in head and hole in base R.7.S.4/T.18-1-26.Tungsten contact points fitted. The distributor has remained perfectly clean and,all the condenser joints have remained tight. The Tungsten point on the finger has developed a small pip in the center with a corresponding hole in the contact of screw. The contacts are clean and good after cleaning the sparking plugs we obtained good slow running of the car. Bonnet & fittings. Bonnet modified to scheme 721 otherwise to L.O.T. E.53687. The bonnet and fittings are in good conditions.Nuts holding bonnet strips have remained firm and bonnet clips have functioned O.K. Engine guards. Felt strips fitted to L.E.C.2091.The condition of engine was very dirty when the car was taken over in Paris The loovers of side engine guards were choked with dirt.It was evident that the car had been running on wet sandy roads with the above results. We would suggest that the angle of the loovers be increased so that the dirt would have less tendency to be shot upwards. We have had very little wet conditions during our runs, and the engine has kept fairly clean. Gearbox undershield. Undershield modified to E.S.2965 and Arrangt Drg.G.53913. The underside of gearbox and servo mechanism has been kept free from dirt. We consider the undershield to be quite satisfactory. Radiator. This is in good conditions. The lug for supporting bonnet has worn slightly oval. Radiator shutter &controls. Controls have operated satisfactory. There is a slight rattle from shutter. Dashboard & brackets. The top corners of the dashboard have become worn due to the movement of the scuttle.Bolts holding dashboard brackets have remained tight. | ||
