1044. To Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}6.12.39. HIGH POWER 6-CYLINDER ENGINES. This is to confirm that we expect to make a new pattern for the 3¼-bore 6-cylinder engine, and in order to get the maximum use out of this pattern we want, at the same time, to make provision for the use of a 3¾-bore unit even though we never build this latter engine. Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} states that he has done the necessary design work and, therefore, I should be glad if Hunt would make the necessary arrangements with the Tracing Office when they have finished the 3¼-bore engine to make a drawing of the 3¾-bore block.
