CONFERENCE FILE 1381 BY/N.18.11.38. AGENDA FOR CONFERENCE. 22nd. November.1938. WRAITH. Cracked Valve Seats. 8.B.V. was fitted with the original type Head, and 4 valve seats were cracked during the test. This confirms the wisdom of decision to hold up the old heads. HEADS TO BE SCRAPPED Costs. This may be ascertained by G/Rb.{R. Bowen} giving the current figures for production. TARGET ON WRAITH 3282 ALLOWED HOURS Propeller Shaft. As the result of further experience it is proposed to fit a larger propeller shaft when convenient. French tests were satisfactory, but the shaft on Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}'s car shewed signs of trouble, due to the use of the car in traffic conditions i.e. considerable stopping and starting as against French test conditions. | ||
