(3) Mechanical petrol pump.

It was agreed, in view of the trouble we had with petrol pumps, that it would be taking unnecessary risks to go ahead with the mechanical petrol pump as a result of only one season's testing.

The remaining items enumerated in Rml/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 25.11.38. were approved of. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} however, pointed out that the B.50 cast iron engine was only in its initial development stages, and it was impossible to guarantee that it would be in a condition where it could be sold to a customer in six weeks' time, which would be the date when it would be necessary to give the Works the 'go ahead' on a number of Continental chassis.
