RE: PETROL TANK FILLER- B.111.

We send herewith PD.31 shewing the petrol tank filler in the wing for B.111.

It will be seen that the filler head consists of almost entirely existing pieces. This should effect a great saving in time and money in fitting up 1-B-5.

As we have some doube about the ability to fill at speed with such a long horizontal portion to the filler, it has been suggested that the Experimental Department should fit up an existing tank with a filler of these proportions and test it forthwith.

We have shewn a radial system of finger grooves to stiffen the tank end plate, but on the whole we prefer an arrangement of finger grooves, such as is shewn on FW.1101.

Will you please supply us with two prints of PD.31, one for Messrs. Park Wards and one for filing.
