The poor quality and failure of fan belts on three cars, and a broken thermometer.

3 A point which requires looking into is the quality of the fan belts. On all three cars which have been out here the belts have had to be constantly adjusted. It is probable that the leather is of poor quality. On 59H we kept on adjusting until the belt finally broke. The thermometer has also gone west and if it is intended to keep the car here much longer I will get a new one from Paris depot. h [Text in right margin] 7 Whittles leather Earl belts. | ||
