f4336 To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/LGl.2.23. WORM DRIVE. /141 With reference to the attached. This axle would only be useful to us if we could run it on the dynamometer. It is the only intensified means we have of testing axles. From the experience of the Stutz worm drive axle, we anticipate that it would not stand up to the test and we might damage it. If the owner is willing for us to put it through this intensified test we think it would be quite worth while to loan him an axle whilst we utilise his experimentally.
