(a) As plain shunt wound machine (both control brushes removed ) (b) One control brush only in action (observe control current). (c) Correctly connected. (observe control current) (d) Control brushes connected to main brushes through equal resistances of such value as to cause half of the armature only to carry current at 3000 R.P.M. i.e. to cause equality of all brush currents (observe control volts and current). (e) Note amperes output to 6 fully charged large capacity cells in series. Plot family of curves of amperes against speed, showing effects of the various connections. N.B. Dynamo to be run on load previous to test to get normally warm. | ||
