John Marston Ltd. -2- 14th. May 1938. also stress the importance of retaining the shape of the shell (as shown on drawings) right up to the point where the rest angle is formed, since any running off of the contour towards the rest angle caused by forming the latter will give a false light line and affect the appearance. Two points were omitted in discussion yesterday - the first is a bracing stiffener across the front of the yoke as well as the rear - will you, therefore, please fit one in the same position on the front of the yoke as that on the rear. The front piece can be identical with the rear piece, but should be spot welded to the yoke instead of bolted as in the case of rear stiffener. The other point is that of enamel finish - we prefer the matt paint finish which we use at present on our radiators and wish to retain this on the Bentley III and Bentley 50 radiators. Will you let us know whether you have such a matt finish enamel available, or whether we shall send you a quantity of ours for the purpose. We will despatch to you within a few days three Bentley shell badges and the wing stay off lamp tube assemblies for the radiators you are building. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
