We send you herewith copy of Mr. Royce's memo
which he wrote on the 27th. ult. :-

"Dear Mr. Elliott,

I have just received Mr. Rowledge's memo.
re. progress. I am pleased you are now getting along
better.
We had such a bitter experience with the high
speed servo that I fear any increase in its speed.
I do not believe we should have as much braking
in the front wheels. How did we get on when we had none?
Regarding the design of the servo, I would like
the latest and simplest one I sent to be examined before
putting the production in hand, then pick the best you have.
I think however every care should be taken that the brakes
do not stick on and it seems all in the primary lever and
central pressure shaft being quite free when the brakes are
on so that they can release freely.
Thank Mr. Rowledge and Mr. Day for their memos.
You will see that I am much in the dark about the progress
with the engine.
We leave here on the 28th. so it is no use posting
after the evening of the 24th. (Thursday).
I hope we shall get one or two good cars about the
first, 2nd. and 3rd. May, at Wittering.

Yours sincerely,

F.H. Royce".
