Huckerby} Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. For the attention of Mr.Steadman. [Handwritten Note Right]: Hold Rply /624. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 14th instant, addressed for the attention of Mr.Longley, who is at present away on holiday, and we have also received the fan belt to your Drg. E.W.1775. This belt has been examined carefully, and as far as we can tell it is quite satisfactory, so that we are rather at a loss to understand why it has not given the same results as others which we have supplied. One possibility is, of course, that there may have been excessive slip due to lack of initial tension, which would cause overheating, and tend to destroy the rubber bonding. Yours faithfully, FERODO LIMITED. [Signature] | ||
