OBJECT OF TEST.
Comparison of 3 and 7 oil feeds to crankshaft bearings.

TESTER.
A.C.Lovesey.

CONDITIONS.
Test bench and road tests.

SUMMARY OF TEST.
It is proposed to alter 8-EX now running in France from 3 feeds to 7 feeds as soon as the 10,000 miles is completed. This will provide a reliable confirmation test.
The tests also show that when more oil is leaking through the bearings, the temperature of the oil leaving the bearings is lower. We ought therefore to be able to run with reduced pressure with 7 feeds and still be as reliable as regards bearings. We cannot reduce the pressure very much without affecting the oil relay.
