TO. FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} SECRET. ORIGINAL E1/M15. 3. 24. Copy to - EFC. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.C. ELECTRIC STARTER. X9650 ACTUATOR & STARTER PINION SPRINGS. We send herewith drawing LeC.1848. giving the data in connection with the above. We think a pressure of about .5 lbs on the switch contact of the actuating device should be suitable, and also a pressure of 1.5 lbs for the starter pinion spring in the position of rest. For this latter we have shewn two different specifications, both of which should be tried, one having a higher rating than the other. We should prefer an 18.SWG. spring to the 19. as being a more practical and stiffer spring. We have sent a blue print of LeC.1848. to Mr.Royce, and we should be glad if you would send this drawing to Mr. Rowledge for his inspection. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
