-2- Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/MH.{M. Huckerby}24.8.39. (4) Bonnet. On the present figures this seems to be prohibitively expensive. If it is due to being made in aluminium we do not think we can afford this material for the weight it saves. We do not see why this bonnet should be materially more expensive that that of B.V., and we think it should be reviewed before cost figures for the chassis are allowed to be submitted to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (5) Valves. We note your remarks re the Doncaster electrically upset inlet valve. Every high power engine we have so far run has been fitted with these valves and absolutely no trouble has been experienced. We are issuing a separate report. (6) L.5 Crankcase. This has repeatedly been run, also with cast iron camshaft. No trouble. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
