Thank you for your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}4/JH.24.5.39. I understand that the method about which I wrote my AA{D. Abbot-Anderson}8/BK.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager}18.5.39 is not, strictly speaking, 'Aluminising'. No heating of the part being treated being necessary.

I have a letter from Mr. King, part of which reads:-
"We have been giving consideration to the problem of metal spraying of exhaust system for you and we feel that the process should be entirely satisfactory and would certainly give considerably increased life to exhaust pipes and silencers."

Would it not be worth sending them one expansion box to be treated and you could then carry out road tests with it? The exposed parts of the expansion boxes on the car I am using- B.144.MR - are peeling badly with a mileage of just 3,000.

AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson}
