X4261 Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY1-P18.8.22. SPECIAL SPRINGS FOR GOSHAWK 11. We have received today, per passenger train, a pair of front Goshawk springs, carrying capacity 700 lbs, the load camber of same being .650" instead of .150" as previously. The springs in question are those which have been made in accordance with DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 's instructions, in order to try out whether the springs having the eye in this particular relation to the axle will be better or worse than the standard proposal on rough roads. You will, of course, give this matter urgent attention, as in the event of it being an improvement we wish to get springs in to the new scheme at as early a date as possible. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
