BATTERIES.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} has pointed out that we get battery failures due to securing studs being tightened up and putting too much load on the battery lugs.

We have prepared a scheme shown on DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1819 whereby an existing Dixtampo boss is rivetted to a plate, the whole of which is attached by bolts to the bottom of the battery box.

This will remove the nut from underneath the battery box and thus prevent people from doing any tightening up of this particular stud.

Full particulars of the steel plate, bosses, rivets, etc. required, are shown on drawings DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1818 and DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1819.

Will you please instruct for 10 sets to be supplied to Kingsbury for use as required.
