Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}28/JH. 6th July, 1937. S. Bowrey Esq., Alexander Duckham & Co. Ltd., Holyport Road, Fulham, LONDON. S.W.6. Dear Mr. Bowrey, Regarding the inspection of Mr. Duckham's 3 1/2 litre Bentley BGF.63 at the works, the unit generally was found to be in good condition. The actual cylinder bore wear was as good but no better than our best recorded bore wear figures, though certainly better than the average. If this one particular car could be regarded as an average when using "Adcoids" then their use does represent an improved cylinder bore wear. We have approached our Paris Dept. who will shortly take delivery of a new 4 1/4 Bentley trials car with a view to running with "Adcoids" in the full. Will you please let us know whether it is possible to obtain Duckham's "adcoids" in Paris, or if when the time arrives for their use you would send them out direct together with all the necessary information about their use. It is possible that a car will shortly be going out to France for some special tests and on which we have decided to use your NP.3 oil. Is this available in France, or will you send out a barrel when necessary? Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
