PHANTOM 111 GEARBOXES. With reference to fine pitch gearbox gears referred to in By/Cgh.{W Clough}3/W.3.12.36, recent experience goes to prove that providing gearboxes are assembled with ball bearings having the standard of silence required the standard is equal if not better than the coarse pitch or Cadillac Gears. Further, owing to reduced spiral angle and reduction of thrust as compared with coarse pitch gears they are to be preferred. Therefore from a Production point of view it is recommended that fine pitch gears should be instructed for C. Series Chassis. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} [Signature] | ||
