To JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x4522 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.18.12.34. Stabilising Bumpers on Bentley. Replying to LE9/C/14.12.34, the weight of the stabilising bumper fitted to Mr. Fairey's car, complete with clips and number plate brackets, is 34 lbs. We attach herewith a specification of the bumper bar which we have approved of and the necessary modifications to the starting handle which go with this bumper. We cannot send you a sample as there is only one in existence, which we are at present using for test. We have ordered two or three from Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden for our experimental purposes, but suggest that if you are likely to require a number you should either order them yourself right away or get us to order them, because there is definitely going to be a delay if this is not done. We are already embarrassed by Staniland's car and others which are waiting for this fitting. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
