-3- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/KW.29.12.34. When we measured the efficiency of a Morris hydraulic brake system from pedal to one brake shoe we obtained 70% including pull off springs and all mechanical connections. Tests by Lockheeds show the hydraulic transmission to be of the order of 98% efficient. We should not recommend the cylinders being inside the drums owing to cooling difficulties. We are of the opinion that hydraulic front brakes will provide the lightest and most efficient form of equalisation. Our present equalisers do not equalise loads that vary by less than 25%.
