Competition work on the Bentley.

It is just possible that this car will be entered for the Mille Miglia, which occurs sometime in March. For this there is no limit as to what can be done to the car. For this reason we are proposing to fit magnesium parts wherever possible.

The obvious parts are the dashboard, gearbox, clutch pit, sump and induction pipe. The gearbox casting is of course slightly different owing to the high closed ratios.

I should be glad if you would ensure that castings for these parts are available so that we can get the pieces if a decision to run is obtained. In any case, magnesium parts will of course be useful for competition work in such events as Shelsley.

We are well equipped with cylinder heads and are getting along with tests on these.
