The design and urgent testing of coolant jets for the exhaust valve seats on Wraith III and Bentley III models.

Handwritten notes: no I des Swdt WRAITH III and BENTLEY III. COOLANT JETS FOR EXHAUST VALVE SEATS. Please receive herewith :- E.CD.1349 Coolant Jets for Exhaust Valve Seats - W.III. & B.III. The jets on the sparking plug side of the cylinder head are in same position as those shown on a previous design E.CD.923. The slotted type of jet similar to the alternative design shown on LeC.5664 should be used with the water directed towards the valve seats in every case; this will need watching when fitting the jets in the cylinder block. The position of the two end jets on the exhaust side of cylinder head is governed by the core plugs in top of cylinder block. A modification to the gasket to suit the jets is required. The water holes beneath the sparking plugs are deleted in the top of the cylinder block, but should be retained in the cylinder head and gasket. Will you please detail and instruct this experiment for test on the Continental B.V. car, which is shortly going to France. The job to be considered as urgent. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
