Contd. -2- EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 5/T30.11.23. The condition, however, may even be improved in one machine by a change of armature. It is thought that it may be a suitable test for possibility of noisiness to observe this irregularity in the traction and though we do not at the moment say that it is conclusively a satisfactory measure of the noisiness of the machine, we suggest that the point might be observed both in EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 's and in Mr. Brock's Dept., as we may in this way arrive at a means of preventing noisy machines from being put on chassis in the first instance. We should like to hear from EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} as to the conclusions arrived at on trying further machines with the cast iron end brackets. Our conclusion is that the noise is independent of this feature. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} | ||
