To BA. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to Gd. " " HGA. " " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " RV. " " FO. X4241 ORIGINAL EFC RECEIVED JUN 14 1921 E6/G9/6/21. RE "GOSHAWK II" - BONNET CATCH. We have sent you under cover of our memo E2/G9/6/21, drawing Lec.1403 shewing the design of the bonnet catch that should be used for "Goshawk II". This catch may be unhooked either by a direct movement or by rotating the barrel after same has been lifted. it is therefore very suitable for use where the space is limited, as in the locality between the front mudguard and bonnet side. Further, since the line of the spring pressure always lies along the axis of the handle, this catch should be very easy to operate. Would you kindly issue the necessary instructions for applying this design to the bonnet of which particulars have already been sent. Owing to the design having no limitations as regards where it can be placed. since it is attached to the bonnet rest and not to the frame of the chassis, we now ask that the front and rear catches both be 6 1/4" from the bonnet ends.
