We seem to have lost some of the technical liaison which we used to have when you were in charge of the development section of tyre work at Dunlops, and I think it would be to our mutual advantage if we could revive this. A case in point is the recent "90" type tread. We are really not quite clear what it is hoped to achieve by going from the M.A.2 type tread to the series "90". If we had this information we should be able to test these tyres much more intelligently, and also probably the test would go through more expeditiously. What has happened actually recently is that we have had "90" tyres on test for some little time but as we are very satisfied with the M.A. treads we have not taken a great deal of interest in the "90" pattern. Very recently our Buyer, Mr. Royce, has told us that Dunlops are launching a large advertising campaign on the "90" tread and are exceedingly anxious for us to change over to the new pattern. Had we realised that this state of affairs was likely to occur we should have pushed forward with our tests so that we could have expressed our feelings about these tyres and come to some definite decision as to whether they were better or worse than the M.A. tread. | ||
