For the attention of W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.

(Dict. 13th.)

Dear Sirs,

I regret the delay in forwarding you comparative details of Wire and Spoked Disc Wheel weights.

As explained, it is a difficult matter to compare these types of wheels in the same rim sizes, as in most instances a Wire wheel with 17" or 18" rim is replaced with the 16" Spoked Disc equipment.

We have, however, collected some weights which are directly comparable, and which it is hoped may provide the information required.

With the exception of the 3.00 x 16 Wire wheel figure, which is estimated, the figures are taken from actual production.

We have, as far as possible, endeavoured to make these figures representative over the various types of wheel.

3.00 x 16 Single piece Wire wheel. - now a more or less obsolete fitment, but was used on such cars as M.G. Midget, Jowett and Wolseley Hornet ............ 14¼ lbs.

3.00 x 16 Spoked Disc wheel - as a suitable replacement ....................................... 18¼ lbs. A wheel of this weight is now fitted on Jowett Cars.

4.00 x 16 Centre Lock Wheel. - 42 type shell, similar to that used by Riley ....................... 17¼ lbs.

4.00 x 16 Bolt-on Disc Wheel. - in replacement .. 19¾ lbs.

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} .....
